    • Abstract:
The article reports on the plan of the U.S. Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA) to improve the efficiency of high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) systems. The author mentions that DARPA has awarded contracts to SRI International and Reservoir Labs Inc. to find ways to increase the power efficiency of HPEC from 1 billion floating-point operations per second per watt (GFLOPS/w) to 75 GFLOPS/w. He adds that the project aims to break the capabilities of military embedded systems.
