- Abstract:
The article reports on the harsh conditions faced by punk band Pussy Riot members in the prison camp in Mordovia, Russia. Band member Maria Alyokhina cites in an interview that she and bandmates Yekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova were sentenced for two years for an anti-Putin protest. Alyokhina claims that there is not hot water and medicine in the prison but President Vladimir Putin states that the women deserved what they got because they threatened Russia's moral foundations.
