In this article, the author reflects upon how museum professionals should deal with issues of resistance, opposition and conflict. Particular focus is given to the Great Britain-based initiative I Object! Working through Conflict in Museums, which aims to promote museums as a space for public debate and discussion. An upcoming session at the October 2012 Museums Association conference is also examined.
