The decision whether to simply install Windows 8 or perform an upgrade is considered, and it is noted that the upgrade process is simpler and preserves data. Instructions are offered on the preparation of the microcomputer for the upgrade, the retention of features from the old operating system and the actual installation of Windows 8.
