NEW DOCUMENTARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF CRISÓSTOMO MARTINEZ AND HIS ANATOMICAL ATLAS. (English)

This article discusses the discovery of new documents regarding the work of Spanish anatomist and scientific engraver Crisóstomo Martínez. The author describes Martínez's work in the medical field that advanced the knowledge of human anatomy during the latter half of the 17th century. He examines the attempts to obtain monetary support from the Spanish government in order to travel to Paris, France, and continue his study of medicine and science. Martínez's leadership in the intellectual movement known as novator is also explored.
