The article presents information on Ruud Joosten, the head of AkzoNobel Pulp & Performance Chemicals, and his strategy for the company. Joosten has been with AkzoNobel for nearly 18 years, and has been the head for 18 months. He has a finance background, and specializes in marketing. He says that constant development of new products is very important in the pulp and paper chemicals industry, and his company has hundreds of engineers at the company's research & development (R&D) facility.
