Gardner, director of the Information Technology and Communications Directorate at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in the U.S. When asked about how did he get into information technology (IT), he says that he went into the U.S. Air Force and was a launch control officer for a nuclear weapons facility, where he got an experience in IT. Gardner says that cybersecurity continues to be a big challenge for NASA.
