The spike in the growth of the Irish Whiskey industry is reportedly attracting big beverage companies like Beam Inc. that acquired major Irish whiskey producer Cooley Distillery in County Louth for 95 million U.S. dollars. Beam became one of three major producers in Ireland together with Pernod Ricard S.A., and Diageo PLC., with three more new distilleries said to be under construction.
