    • Abstract:
To study the effects of chitooligosaccharide-chromium (III) complex (Cos-Cr) on diabetic mice. Selecting ten male mice as the normal control group. Thirty diabetes mice were randomly divided into 3 groups, diabetes control group (n = 10), Cos group (n = 10), Cos-Cr group (n = 10). The mice were dissected after 4 weeks, determinations of serum glucose concentration. Cos-Cr can significantly decrease fasting blood glucose level, increase body weight as well as index spleen. Symptoms of hunger and thirsty were improved obviously in diabetic mice. Cos-Cr has protective effects on alloxan-induced hepatic injury in mice. Hepatocytes lesion was alleviated markedly. Cos-Cr can decrease blood glucose concentration and improve diabetic symptoms in mice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
