      The article presents information related to the widespread of diabetes in Australia. It is noted that the Australian Diabetes Council expects the number of people with diagnosable diabetes to total approximately 3.5 million by 2016 if the spread of diabetes continues at its present rate. It is stated that the most common form of diabetes, affecting 85 to 90 per cent of all people with diabetes is Type 2 diabetes.
