      The article explores trends in suburbs development in the U.S. as of summer 2012. The trend was reportedly impacted by urban lobotomies in the 1950s and 1960s and housing market boom in the 1980s which feature walkability, density and the single-family houses that lead to physical and social fragmentation. Also mentioned are the effects of rising energy costs on housing and population densities.
