- Abstract:
The article discusses how speech therapies can help people with aphasia. Speech therapist Kellie McCue states that therapists employ various strategies to help people access word such as having the person with aphasia draw a picture of the word, using gestures to indicate what they want, and having them write the first letter because that can trigger recall. It also suggests reteaching the person to speak again and teaching them word-retrieval strategies.
