- Abstract:
Rodney Alcala, a photographer and onetime contestant on ''The Dating Game'' who is on death row in California for killing a 12-year-old girl and four women in the late 1970s, was flown to New York City on Wednesday to face charges of murdering two other women. The Manhattan district attorney's office announced in the morning that Mr. Alcala, 68, was on an airplane with federal marshals. A person briefed on the case said he arrived in Newburgh, N.Y., in the afternoon and was brought to the city for fingerprinting by the police. After processing, he is to be arraigned in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, possibly on Thursday. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
