- Abstract:
The article discusses a link between cardiovascular disease and blood viscosity. The link involves the critical biophysical parameter that determines how much friction the blood causes against the vessels, how hard the heart has to work to pump blood, and how much oxygen is delivered to organs and tissues. It mentions how thicker blood produces more friction and more damage to the arteries' inner lining which is the endothelium.
