      The article considers politics and government in Ukraine and its foreign relations with the European Union (EU) in the aftermath of the country's 2004 Orange Revolution. The 2006 elections for Ukraine's legislative body are examined, and results attributed to regional polarization and voter discontent with lack of significant change. Ukraine's efforts to become eligible for EU membership are examined.
