It cites the visit made by BP PLC chief executive officer John Browne to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin to talk about the general business climate in Russia. Browne could also negotiated the back taxes worth 22 billion roubles (792 million dollars) that are being demanded by Russian authorities from the BP-TNK joint venture.
