- Abstract:
A literary criticism of the book "The Sovereignty and Goodness of God" by Mary Rowlandson is presented. It examines the roles of numbers, imperialism, and human reproduction in Rowlandson's captivity narrative. According to the author, Rowlandson's account reveals her attempts to control and familiarize her situation and her inability to completely separate people into quantifiable groups. Particular focus is given to her depictions of children and pregnant and nursing women.
