- Abstract:
The article looks at how 2012 U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney's opponents failed to hold Romney accountable on his views on health care. The author argues that Romney's passing of a so-called individual health care mandate as Governor of Massachusetts gave his opponents an opportunity to stay his momentum as the leading Republican candidate, but none have taken the opportunity. Failed attempts to lambaste Romney on health care from candidates Tim Pawlenty, former Minnesota Governor, and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, are noted.
