      The article presents an overview of scientific research into various phenomena in the Earth's atmosphere. Particular focus is given to questions regarding the formation of clouds, including the role of cosmic rays, air jets pushed by rainfall, and airborne microorganisms able to induce ice nuclei growth. Also examined are issues such as how thunderclouds become charged to create lightning, the occurrence of aerial lights prior to earthquakes, and variations in observations of brightness in the aurora borealis and aurora australis.
