    • Abstract:
The authors discuss a study by Gilda Sedgh and colleagues on global abortion trends and rates in the U.S. between 2003 and 2008. They are critical that the study has found that abortion worldwide has grown from 44% in 1995 to 49% in 2008, leading to a progress in discussing preventable source of maternal mortality. They also indicate that the study should also pay attention in politics and religion, impact of healthcare access, and their implication in the global patterns of death from abortion.
