    • Abstract:
A case study is presented in which the author discusses the book "Family," by Chinese author Ba Jin, and presents it as an example of the censorship that was imposed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) following the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949. The article provides a detailed history of literary censorship in China under the CCP, comments on the spread of Maoist propaganda within the PRC, and analyzes the reasons for censorship of "Family."
