- Abstract:
The article focuses on the representation of social sciences and philosophy in film. It questioned how thinking and working on social and philosophical topics becomes an audiovisual subject. Film representation is conceptualized as a self reflection of doing sciences and philosophy by using the mass media. Documentary about working in social and philosophical domains monitors the self-representation in public spheres like radio, TV or other public activities. It also displays the work of researchers by watching them in University lectures. Empirical examples are given in the documentaries Derrida about the famous philosopher and Soziologie ist ein Kampfsport about Pierre Bourdieu. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
