The article reports on a settlement reached by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 and the Eaton Corp. through which the latter will address trichloroethylene (TCE) contamination in groundwater at its Vehicle Group Plant and surrounding areas in Kearney, Nebraska. It notes that the company is required by the EPA to maintain groundwater extraction systems to reduce TCE contamination. It also states that the TCE contamination was first detected in 1986.
