    • Abstract:
The article reports on the surveillance for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in New York City from June 2008 to November 2009. It says that persons newly reported to Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) with a positive HBV test were chosen from the HBV surveillance database every 2 months to learn more about HBV patients in the city. According to the author, birthplace in a high-prevalence country is the most commonly reported reason for HBV testing.
