- Abstract:
The article discusses the historical accounts of Tomas Zumalacarreui, a native of Guipuzcoa. Upon witnessing the siege in Saragossa, Spain in 1808, Zumalacarreui returned home to Guipuzcoa and declared against the usurpation of Napoleon Bonaparte. He then joined with Jauregui, also known as El Pastor or the Shepherd, who find Zumalacarreui to be of great use and succeed El Pastor in pursuing their war of independence at an end.
