      In this article the author reflects on the experiences of an Africa-born man living in Stuttgart, Germany. Several areas of the man's life are explored including his studies in Great Britain as a child, his relationship with a woman named K and his struggles with the German language. Various aspects of German culture and history are examined through the man's experiences. A daily protest that took place in Stuttgart's Hauptbahnhof against the proposed demolition of a historic train station is also described.
