The article presents an overview of micropulse laser photocoagulation. It reveals that photocoagulation is accomplished through protein denaturation that is induced via absorption of radiant energy by the ocular chromophores. Also noted is the micropulse laser technology and the use of retinal laser therapy for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME).
