This article reports that prices for base metals in pre-market trading on the London Metal Exchange retreated on October 30, 2011 as the eurozone reacted to the poor Italian bond auction and weak interest from the physical market. The three-month copper price settled at 7,940.5 per tonne. Analysts note that companies do not want to buy copper because it is expensive.
