- Abstract:
The article reports that the mountain pine beetle causes a damage to the forest in Canada and in the Western U.S. Cody Hawkins, a public affair specialist with Forest Service, Bark Beetle Incident Management, states 75 to 80 percent of the lodgepole pines are suffering from the damage. It presents the signs and symbols of a pine beetle attacks including a resin popcorn-shaped masses or pitch tubes, tunneling at the trunk, and a red pine needles.
