      This article focuses on the transatlantic migration of Jews to the United States from the constituent lands ruled by the Habsburg Monarchy (monarchy of the Austrian Empire) during the early 1900s. Several topics are discussed, including the journeys to New York City taken by Jews such as the maid Fanny Leibenhaus, the tinker Chaim Rottmann and his family from Galicia (now Poland and Ukraine), and the butcher Hermann Kunkes from Czernowitz (Ukraine).
