      A biography of Vsevolod Shestakov, a Russian hydrogeologist, is presented. He was born on July 15, 1927 in Moscow, Russia and studied at Moscow Engineering Construction Institute. It says that Shestakov was one of the Russian hydrogeologists who made a transition from groundwater dynamics into modern hydrogeodynamics and modeling. It mentions that Shestakov and V. Mironenko introduced hydrogeomechanics science, which is a discipline that deals with the mechanics of rocks and soils.
