      The article discusses the economic issues facing the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A discussion on the impact of the global economic crisis on UAE, which is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and has adopted a free market economy, is offered. The federal government also took some public debt and used the 700 billion U.S. dollars sovereign wealth to inject into banks to help them overcome the economic downturn. It discusses the role of the oil and gas sector in UAE's economy.
