      This section offers news briefs related to the film industry in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nick Maniatis was appointed director of the New Mexico Film Office. The winning teams for the 2011 48 Hour Film Project include "Blood Actually," by Walkie Talkies for Best Use of Prop, "Mindless," by Lindele Media for Best Acting for a Drama (ensemble), and "Rapture," by Game One Productions for Best Special Effects. New Mexico was chosen as a setting for the movie "The Host," directed by Andrew Niccol.
