- Abstract:
The article offers an analysis from the U.S. Congressional Budget Office report "The Impact of Ethanol Use on Food Prices and Greenhouse-Gas Emissions" published in April of 2009 that discusses the effects and costs of ethanol production. Topics include the relationship between demand for corn in ethanol production with high food prices, the possible link between lower greenhouse-gas emissions and ethanol use, and the connection between ethanol and U.S. government food assistance programs.
