      The article discusses forced marriages and honor killings in the U.S. and Great Britain. Several personal stories of threats, abuse, and death of women such as Banaz Mahmod in Great Britain are provided. Legal efforts in Great Britain and advocacy efforts in the U.S. to combat the practices are discussed. The efforts of two activists for women's rights in these practices, Jasvinder Sanghera and Layli Miller-Muro, are discussed.
