The article reports on relations between the community banking sector and U.S. federal regulators, in light of an April 2011 Senate Banking subcommittee hearing. Small bankers' fear of retribution if they lobby against strict oversight or resist pressure from regulators who want them to lend more money so the economy can grow is discussed.
