    • Abstract:
The article presents literary criticism of the book "Survey of London" by John Stow. According to the author, the book illustrates the failure of methods of urban topography which became obsolete during Stow's later years. It is suggested that the book is part of a larger conversation about the perceptual difficulties surrounding urbanization in London, England. Topics discussed include early modern coach transportation systems and the Blackfriars playhouse in London.
