      A biography of American experimental psychologist Laurie Santos is presented. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 19, 1975 to Marie Santos, a high school guidance counselor, and Fred Santos, a systems analyst. Prior to pursuing a career in science, Laurie was interested in writing, when she made her first book "The Cat and the Mouse." In experimental psychology, Laurie is best known for studying the natural behavioral tendencies of apes including deception, competition, and seizure of valuable objects.
