    • Abstract:
The article deals with the impact of Borders' bankruptcy on U.S. book sales. Judging from the declining finances of Borders, majority of publishers started transitioning sales to other outlets before the company filed for bankruptcy. According to Dominique Raccah, publisher and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sourcebooks, they have reorganized their operations in response to Borders' bankruptcy. Before the company's problems emerged, publishers started entering nontraditional markets in order to increase sales.
