      The author discusses religious persecution of minorities in Pakistan. The article discusses the blasphemy laws put into place by former Pakistani dictator General Zia-ul-Haq in the late 1970s and 1980s. The article examines the case of Aasia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian, who was sentenced to death in November 2010 for insulting Islam, and discusses violence and intimidation against three Pakistani politicians who attempted to defend Bibi and the impact terrorism has on the citizenry.
