- Abstract:
The article discusses the possible benefits of ignorance. According to research by Nate Kornell of Williams College and Lisa Son of Barnard College, expertise in a field can cause people to overestimate their knowledge of a subject. A study by David Dunning of Cornell University showed that the most incompetent people are often the least able to judge their abilities, a trait which Dunning argues can cause people to achieve difficult goals.
