    • Abstract:
The article presents case studies of diving-related deaths in Australia in 2006, which were conducted as part of the Divers Alert Network Asia-Pacific dive fatality reporting project. The studies were gathered via reports from witnesses, the police, and coroners. It was reported that 10 deaths happened while snorkelling and/or breath-hold diving and six while scuba diving. The studies concluded that trauma from a marine creature, snorkelling, or diving alone and pre-existing medical conditions featured in a series of deaths.
