Views of peace have evolved since the end of World War II to include at least seven aspects, including, six aspects of outer peace, as well as inner peace; which collectively lead towards a more holistic, integrative view of peace. Each aspect of peace will be summarized individually, and then collectively, followed by implications of this more holistic view of peace for peace education. If one takes these seven aspects of peace that have emerged since the end of World War II, together, one sees the emergence of a more holistic, integrative view of peace that has the following characteristics. Peace is now multifactored looking at many different substantive aspects and dimensions of peace; multileveled dealing with multiple system levels, from macro to micro levels in the outer world, and also inner peace; defined not only in negative terms what one wants to eliminate, but also in positive terms in terms/visions of what peace could ideally look like in each area; honoring both unity and diversity, interdependence and pluralism, of the world's peoples, races, cultures, ethnic groups, nations, religions, and species.
