    • Abstract:
The article profiles conservative news commentator Tucker Carlson and his website "The Daily Caller," co-founded with former vice presidential advisor Neil Patel, as a counterweight to the perceived online saturation of liberal-leaning news websites such as "The Huffington Post." Despite being launched with an expressed mission to bring credibility back to conservative news by using fact based journalism, the reporting of "The Daily Caller" often appeals more to sensationalism rather than fact based reporting. An example is provided of the website's series about news blogger and reporter Ezra Klein's Google Group forum "Journolist" by reporter Jonathan Strong, which inaccurately reported on the forum's attempts at political conspiracy, thereby discrediting Carlson's website.
