- Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of Jewish American comic book writer and artist William Erwin Eisner's (widely known as Will Eisner) graphic autobiography "Life, in Pictures: Autobiographical Stories," as a means to examine the relationship between autobiographical writing and graphic novels. The ways in which Eisner utilizes certain narrative techniques in order to explore themes of antisemitism and general prejudice in the autobiographical work are explained. The effects of prejudice and racism on American Jewish identity are discussed as well.
