The Third International Scientific Conference "Matija Vlacic Illyricum," Malo pozoriste in Labin, April 22-24, 2010. (English)

The article reviews the third international conference on Istrian Lutheran reformer Matija Vlacic Ilirik (Matthias Flacius Illyricus; 1520-75). The first panel, "Vlacic and modern research," reviewed the previous workshop of 1977 and the conference of 1985. The second panel, "Flacius and theological-philosophical understanding," dealt with Vlacic's "Key to the Holy Scriptures," and his dispute with Schweckfeld. The third dealt with Vlacic's theological thought with regard to Croatian and Slovene Protestants. The fourth was about Vlacic's theological disputes with Catholics as well as those within Protestant theological circles. The fifth and sixth panels were on Vlacic and history, his fascination with Luther, his relationship with other Protestant theologians, and his contribution to the new concept of Church history and Protestant theology. The next conference will take place in 2020 on the 500th anniversary of Vlacic's birth.
