      BETHESDA, Md. -- The United States Golf Association announced Wednesday that Shinnecock Hills would host the 2018 United States Open, the fifth time the event has come to the Long Island club. The tournament was first held there in 1896. ''We are thrilled that our national championship will return to one of our country's most-storied venues,'' the U.S.G.A. president, Jim Hyler, said.
