      The article presents the study by E. Elinav and colleagues on the commensal microorganisms alteration in intestines. The study states that mice with deficient Nod-like receptor family pyrin domain 6 (NLRP6) protein showed a reduction in inflammasome activation, while caspase 1 absence promotes colitogenic microbiota development. It mentions the colitis susceptibility from lack of Chemokine C-C motif ligand 5 (CCL5) and the involvement of interleukin-18 (IL-18) secretion to altered microbiota.
