    • Abstract:
The article discusses several notable intellectual property decisions for copyright and trade secret cases in the U.S. in 2010. In the case Reed Elsevier Inc. v. Muchnick, the long-standing issue addressed is whether registration of a copyright is a jurisdictional requirement to bring an infringement action or just a requirement. At issue at the case Viacom Int'l Inc. v. YouTube Inc., however, is whether Internet service providers are not liable for infringement by their customers, provided they have a program to attend to alleged infringement.
