    • Abstract:
This article reports on the workers strike at the British Leyland Authi for salary increase in Great Britain in June 1974. The management's quandary stemmed from their plans to sell the Authi subsidiary to General Motors. Thus, any agreement made with workers would then raise the delicate question of whether British Leyland footed the bill, or passed it to General Motors. Fortunately for management, the workers have inadvertently helped shelve the problem for a while. They finally staged a longer sit-in and therefore became subject to Spanish law. They eventually left the plant at the company's request and have been suspended for 21 days, the minimum period possible as disciplinary action.
